How old should a child be to learn first aid?
Red Cross courses give a recommended education level rather than a minimum age; some community CPR courses require age 14 and above. Students can learn through their school's Red Cross Youth unit.
Singapore Red Cross course pages do not state a minimum age. They give a recommended education level instead: at least Secondary Two for the CPR+AED course and Standard First Aid, and at least Primary Six for the child and infant first aid workshop. All of them also require learners to be fit enough for the practical work.
Some People's Association (OnePA) community CPR+AED courses state that participants must be 14 or older. Check each session's description.
At school, Red Cross Youth uniformed groups take part in first aid training: Links for Primary 3 to 6 and Cadets for Secondary 1 to 4/5, joined through the school's Red Cross Youth unit. SCDF's myResponder app lets under-18s register with parental consent.
