What are the P1 registration phases?
Five phases: 1, 2A, 2B, 2C and 2C Supplementary; closer ties to the school come earlier.
P1 registration has five phases for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. Phase 1: a sibling is studying in the school. Phase 2A: a parent or sibling is a former student, a parent is on the School Advisory or Management Committee or is a staff member, or the child is in the MOE Kindergarten in that school.
Phase 2B: parent volunteers, members endorsed by a church or clan directly connected with the school, and endorsed active grassroots leaders. Phase 2C: children not yet registered in a primary school. Phase 2C Supplementary: children still not registered after Phase 2C.
In 2026, each school reserved 20 places for Phase 2B and 40 for Phase 2C. From the 2027 exercise, Phase 2C reserved places rise to 60 (except schools with a P1 intake below 180).
